African Crafts and Culture House project was launched on May 25, 2016 by Mr. Emine Erdoğan, It was implemented under the auspices to contribute to the social development efforts of the African continent.The “African Handicrafts Market and Culture House” project, which was carried out to contribute to the solution of the education and health problems of African women, aims to market the handicrafts of African women with the value they deserve and without profit. The project also aims to be the meeting point of African cultures and contribute to Turkey-Africa relations. It operates in the historical district of Ankara, Hamamönü.In the market where African women’s handicraft works are; There are products brought from Ghana, Ivory Coast, Niger, Gambia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Sudan, Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Senegal, Benin, Mali, Cameroon and Guinea. The African Handicrafts Market and Culture House, headquartered in Ankara’s historical district of Hamamönü, is not only a market where handmade African products are delivered to those interested, but also functions as a meeting place for African cultures.The Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MUSIAD, TIKA and THY are the partners of the project.Turkish Classical Music lessons have been given to the wives of the ambassadors of African countries in Turkey in the African House in recent years, and it will be implemented in a new event in a short time.The African House Talk Africa program, which is held regularly, is hosted by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. It started with Yavuz Selim Kıran last year and regularly takes place once a month with the participation of African students and those interested in African culture and civilization. In the program, current and current issues related to Africa are covered with expert speakers. In this way, it is aimed to create a fusion with African students studying in Turkey and to create a meeting point for participants who are interested in Africa.On May 19, 2018, the 1st International African Students Festival was held in Hamamönü, within the African House, in partnership with YTB and the University of the Turkish Aeronautical Association.
